Divorce Song 07:24
Your favorite song in the background
I only wanted to give you something
Something you could watch grow Blending in with the dying winds
The shuffling, the dragging of feet
Something I could hear coming I felt the light embrace me
Divorcing the weight upon Your favorite song in the background
I only wanted to give you something
Something you could watch grow A flutter from her distilled heart
I am the quiver in her fears
Truths always hurt the most I felt the light embrace me
 Divorcing the weight upon

Idyll 03:10
Make a body out of anger
 I disappear inside of you
 A projection, wishful thinking
 Had a blue flame life
And I unravel with grit
Don’t you wish you could, too? Heartbreak comes in waves...

Make a body out of anger
I disappear inside of you
 A connection, dreadful eyes
 And a desire for life
 And unrest with gifts
Don’t you wish you could, too? Heartbreak comes in waves...

Plot Holes 03:43

Seasons withdrew to their homes
Beautifully falling asleep to the hum Here come the waterworks Fantastic light
Drowse, repose “Death is close to everyone”

And now you find yourself afraid of every clock on a wall They’re just soft reminders Collective suns drawn on page
Uncut versions of daily life on a screen
 Here come the waterworks
Cyanide awakening
Palimpsest mind “Death is close to everyone”
And now you find yourself afraid of every clock on a
wall They’re just soft reminders Fantastic light
 Drowse, repose
“Death is close to everyone”
And now you find yourself afraid of every clock on a wall They’re just soft reminders

Sigma 03:32
Alongside a picture, a dove
Relenting to monoliths above
Your face didn’t feel like a face (anymore) I guided you to Sigma
It could be anything for you now It’s only an enigma
If you could just show us how Alongside a picture, a dove
Relenting to monoliths above Your heart was gone without a trace I guided you to Sigma
It could be anything for you now It’s only an enigma
If you could just show us how If you could just show us how
7.
Don’t you stray from the path
... New death is new life
 A light destroys us
 And I, I barely live
And I, I barely die I hope you never realize
... you’re my only weakness
The week ends
And I, I barely live
And I, I barely die Birches soaking in holy rain
 The scepter’s in your hands
 Quiescent endings
 Birches soaking in holy rain
 The scepter’s in your hands
Quiescent endings for the broken hearted The futility of love...
has never been so clear
Yet I long for futile things
 And I, I barely live
 And I, I barely die It’s a beautiful world...
that we’re unable to enjoy
And I, I barely live
And I, I barely die Birches soaking in holy rain
 The scepter’s in your hands
 Quiescent endings
Birches soaking in holy rain
The scepter’s in your hands
Quiescent endings for the broken hearted

Glaikit 04:21
Words fail to reach
 And letters escape my grasp
I need no reminders
If only I could let go
I wanted you to want me
But what if there aren’t words? I wanted you to hold me
Nothing quite sharp enough to sever a bond A moment is penned down
A gesture, if not a sigh
 I hold no grudges
A different kind of hell I wanted you to take me
But what if there aren’t words?
I wanted you to hold me
Nothing quite sharp enough to sever a bond

about

Heartlands was born out of necessity. It embodies a songwriting process that I had never been through before.
In late 2018, I took a songwriting course, without a musical approach, but more about unlocking the part of you that creates. I had only been able to write songs without a structure, stuff like ambient and noise.
After the course ended, I was somehow able to let the music flow much faster, and a journey of creation began, taking many shapes and forms.

First, I thought of releasing an acoustic EP called Fawnings, with 5 songs dedicated to people I've only met online, and who mean a lot to me.
As time passed, more songs were written and the EP turned into Heartlands. Initially conceived as an EP, it is now an 8 song album.

As the songs improved and morphed, the cohesive threads drifted.
After months and months of self-introspection, frustration, and unrelenting passion...I was left with 8 tracks about a long distance relationship, and about how loving the wrong person can feel so right.

I'd like to add that none of the songs have been properly mixed/mastered. One day in the future I will re-release this!

about

Memories Without Homes Coventry, UK

Flocks began as a side project for dark electronic band "The Elevator Anthem".
The name comes from a Collections of Colonies of Bees album called Birds, where every song is called Flocks.
This project soars through various genres, such as ambient, post-rock and drone. Every album and EP will be really different. I hope you like what you hear.
